What is a motorcycle fairing?
A fairing kit is typically what you first see on a sports bike. Like how a Phone casing is for a phone, a faring kit is for a motorcycle.
In this blog post you’ll learn all about the different types of fairing kits and why you need them.
What is a motorcycle fairing made out of?
ABS
The material used in most fairings are made out of a special type of plastic known as “Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene” also known as “ABS”.
ABS is strong, flexible, lightweight and extremely tough to spell.
Carbon fibre
For you riders that want an edge on your friends and have money to spare, Carbon fibre fairings are for you. With their signature lightweight touch, These types are reserved for those of you that have deep pockets.
OEM vs Aftermarket parts OEM
Ah yet another abbreviation, OEM. OEM stands for “Original Equipment
Manufacturer.”
Simply put, OEM parts tend to cost more. Almost 60% more compared to aftermarket parts. Akin to buying an iPhone charger directly from the apple store.
They are made by the original Manufacturer and are considerably more expensive. Since it is made by the main manufacturer, the fairing Designs tend to be limited and you are stuck with whatever design the company dishes out. OEM parts have a perfect alignment to your vehicle and will stick on like white on rice.
Aftermarket
It is unfair to just label it as cheap knockoff alternative. In recent years, aftermarket parts have shifted into an attractive and beneficial alternative to riders worldwide.
These parts are generally made by a third party company. The companies that sell this tend to do custom designs at their customers discretion. The downside of this option are that in rare cases, the aftermarket supplier produces fairing kits that have alignment issues and won’t exactly fit on your motorcycle.

We try to take the best aspects of OEM parts and the best features of aftermarket parts and combine them together. The main goal is to provide fairing kits that are comparable in quality to OEM parts while also providing the affordability and customisation of aftermarket parts.
So far we have not faced an alignment issue but if that unfortunately is the case we do offer a 30 day refund or a new fairing kit, however you like it. Speak and consult with our designers and we will get you sorted out.
